Painted Pieces for sweet tooth project

For my third year final project I am creating a collection for kids interiors. I have been taking inspiration from sweets, ice creams, cupcakes, pastries, children's characters and children's toys. I have been looking on the internet, in books, sweet shops and charity shops for inspiration and ideas to draw from to build my ideas. I have been looking at children's illustrators like Eric Carl who is famous for the Hungry Caterpillar book and Quentin Blake who is famous for his illustrations of the Roald Dahl books.
This is some of my candy paintings from my sketchbook. I drew these from some sweets that I bought from an old fashioned sweet shop. I really like the different shapes and colours that iv created that I could then repeat to make an interesting pattern. I also created some paintings of cupcakes on big A2 sheets of paper. I drew this cupcake using different coloured inks and painting onto a water washed background. I really like the lines and textures the inks create on the paper giving the picture an interesting and different effect compared to normal paints.
