Painted Pieces

These are some pieces that i have created on there own for when i scan them in and start to create patterns on the computer for childrens interiors. Again i have tried to make them colorful and look like they are good enough to eat, making them more appealing to children. With these paintings i really like the textures i have created from using the watercolour paints.

I have also done seperate pieces like this with different cakes and pastries. I have looked at how i can make them look life like and 3D so that they appeal to people as then they would again look good enough to eat.

Painted pieces for sweet tooth project

I have been focusing on creating landscapes and buildings with sweets and lollies but also now with cakes. I have been experimenting with different colours and media creating fantasy lands made out of candy and cakes. Iv tried to think with a childs mind when creating these pieces, making them bright colorful and fun. I really like the buildings and trees i have created made from different sweets such as liquorice, rounded sweets like skittles and bon bons, rockets lolls and ice creams. I think the layered cake works well with the landscape and can also look very much like a tower building with the different layers being different floors. Iv not only made plain landscaped backgrounds but also experimented with different patterned backgrounds.

Painted pieces for sweet tooth project

Lately I have been focussing more on the lollipops, ice creams and sweets. I have been experimenting with different media for example inks, paints and pencil. I have drawn these in different shapes and sizes, and have created landscapes of lollipops acting as trees and buildings, giving a feel of a childs fantasy fairy tale world. When creating these fairy tale like scenes it helped to research fairy tale and fantasy illustrations. I also looked at one of the main scenes in the film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory were there is a room full of trees and plants made up of all different kinds of sweets. I really like using the pastel colour paints on top of a watercoloured background or landscape. The watercolour marks help give the feel of a fairy tale world. I am going to continue creating more buildings and landscapes of lollipops and sweets as i feel they work well and are really effective.
